Flexible. Connected. Unique.

The AMP graduate program offers you a personalised development opportunity like no other.

Founded over 170 years ago, AMP was built on the principle of a simple idea – that every individual should have the power to control his or her life. This same principle applies to our Graduate program.

Your Program. Your Rotations. Your AMP.

As a graduate you will complete a two-year rotational program, rotating within the business area of your choice. Taking on meaningful work from day one, you’ll be guided through a tailored training program which aims to accelerate your personal and professional development.

AMP welcomes diverse thinkers with entrepreneurial ambitions and we encourage applications from all undergraduate degrees.

GRADUATE LIFE

At AMP we strive to create an environment where people can realise their ambitions. An environment that offers guidance and support, whilst ensuring enough flexibility to ensure you can make the most of your life, both professionally and personally.

Rotate for Experience
Rotate through a number of teams within your selected business area over a two-year period to get a feel for all areas of the business, enabling you to work out what’s right for your skills and interests. Get connected, build technical skills, and take on meaningful, challenging work from day one.

Formal Development
A tailored development program including a series of workshops, technical skills training, insight sessions, lunch and learns, business improvement projects and numerous networking opportunities with senior executives – all aimed at enhancing your development to set you up for success as quickly as possible and kick start your career.

Support Network
You’ll have access to a network of people who understand your value and are committed to ensuring your success and development. Graduates have a dedicated graduate Talent Manager, graduate champions, buddies, mentors, and Alumni community, alongside your business rotation managers and teams.

Wellness

There is nothing more important than wellbeing.

The AMP Be Well initiative is focused on inspiring our people to set personal goals to create healthier lifestyles and opportunities through targeted wellbeing programmes, aiming to nurture a healthier mind, body and community.

Wellbeing looks different for every individual. In addition to the Be Well initiative, we offer a number of options to ensure employees have the ability to create an environment that suits them, including our ‘Flex for Everyone’ policy, which aims to ensure all roles across AMP can be performed flexibly through a variety of flexible working options.

GRADITUDE is all about our graduates wellbeing and sense of community. The program includes a series of weekly
activities, focusing on engaging the health and wellbeing of the graduate team, while building on the strong cohort

culture. Activities include yoga and meditation sessions in the office, outdoor sports sessions, cooking classes,

The AMP Foundation has charities and other not for profit organisations since 1992.

The Foundation will give financial support AMP employees who give 80+ hours per year of their own time or who sit on the board of an eligible organisation via the annual Unsung Hero program and dollar match fundraising activities for over 130 selected charities and not for profit organisations. You can also claim an instant tax deduction via the Payroll Giving scheme.

Started in 2014, The AMP Tomorrow Fund gives amazing Australians doing great things the chance to share $1 million in grants each year. It’s open to individuals of all ages, walks of life and interests who are working towards a goal that will have a positive impact on the community but need help to take it to the next level.

You will have the chance to take part in numerous organised volunteering opportunities throughout your journey with AMP and can put your hand up to be a Community Champion and take the lead in your team or cohort for community initiatives.

Climate change-AMP recognises climate change is a defining global economic and environmental challenge that is impacting our business, our clients and society. AMP supports the goals of the Paris Agreement to keep the increase in global temperatures to well below two degrees. We are committed to managing our business and investments in alignment with achieving net zero emissions by 2050 as outlined on our Climate Change Position and Action Plan

Modern slavery-AMP is committed to conducting our business in an ethical and professional manner. We consider
the broader impacts to society of our own business operations, purchasing and investment decisions and understand the role we can play in the financial sector to address risks of Modern Slavery across our value chain.

Reconciliation-AMP’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) vision is to empower and work collaboratively with
Australia’s First Peoples to promote financial wellbeing and implement reconciliation initiatives. Through our RAP, we aim to develop cultural understanding, create opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and proudly celebrate Australia’s heritage.

Responsible investment-AMP is committed to responsible investment and we consider environmental, social and
governance (ESG) factors in our investments to drive better long-term financial outcomes for our clients and to achieve better outcomes for society.

AMP Capital is the appointed asset manager for the majority of client funds in the group, including default MySuper options. Clients also have access to a range of investment options through external fund managers and on our flagship investment platform, North.

Through AMP Capital, we launched our first responsible investment funds in 2001, and in 2007 became one of the first signatories to the UN-backed Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). AMP is also a member of the Responsible Investment Association of Australasia (RIAA).

What Graduates Say About Them
  • Diverse range of teams all operating in house. Lots of opportunities to collaborate and network even just internally. See everything happening on the same floor.
  • Flexibility; exposure to senior leaders across the organisation; interesting and complex work tasks; supportive managers and team.
  • The number of interesting rotations is a plus. There is a very strong support system in place for the graduates. You are always encouraged to try different things. There is always someone available to ask questions or to get help from.
  • There is a great culture and flexible working arrangements. The company cares about your wellbeing and the grad program, in particular, provides lots of support to help you succeed.
  • Extremely flexible working from home arrangements. There is also an enormous focus on personal/professional development.
  • A very supportive team and leader, friendly coworkers, flexible working arrangements.
  • Poor media attention.
  • There are constant changes and uncertainty.
  • Lots of upper management changes and organisational restructure which sometimes makes it difficult to focus on everyday responsibilities and tasks.
  • Performance and negative press coverage - tends to overshadow a lot of the good stuff we are actually doing.
  • Current cultural and management issues, including media relationship and depiction.
  • A lot of leadership change at the moment A lot of cost-cutting which puts pressure on employees although this is not felt by the graduates.
